    PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Alejandra Castillo is the President & CEO of the North American Export Grain Association (NAEGA). A senior executive with over 15 years’ experience in global trade with expertise in trade execution, stakeholder management and trade policy. Alejandra worked at the U.S. Grains Council in D.C., Singapore, and India. Most recently, she opened the Council’s newest office in India, where she served as the Regional Director for South Asia. In that capacity, Alejandra set up the strategy to evaluate and implement the Council’s market development programs in the region which included India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

    Dana Clarke

    DIRECTOR OF CONTRACTS

    Dana Clarke is the new Director of Contracts at the North American Export Grain Association (NAEGA). With over 35 years of experience in trade execution, she previously held senior roles at Engelhart Commodities, Glencore, and Louis Dreyfus Company. 

    Dana is an expert in trade contracts, particularly the NAEGA 2 Contract, and has served on the NAEGA Contracts Committee and as an arbitrator. She is dedicated to enhancing trade through contract education and industry expertise.

    In the new role, Dana will guide NAEGA’s global contract education programs including, the development of online learning modules, and serve as the subject matter expert on trade contract issues.

    PROGRAM AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

    Drew joins NAEGA from the United States Senate, where she served as Assistant to the Legislative and Scheduling Directors. Drew brings significant experience working with members of Capitol Hill, and a strong background in project management and managing schedules and events.

    In the new role, Drew will oversee office administration, meeting coordination, member communications, and financial administration. She will be essential in supporting the operational and programmatic needs of NAEGA and contributing to the effective management of our activities.

    Drew looks forward to being a focal point for members regarding program events and membership administration.

    Katy Lee

    EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT

    Katy has more than fifteen years of experience coordinating the voices of farm and agricultural businesses in international policy advocacy environments including the World Trade Organization, the European Union, and the United Nations.

    Between 2016-2021, Katy served as Secretariat of the International Grain Trade Coalition (IGTC), a NAEGA-supported non-profit association formed to serve the greater good by promoting the performance of the supply chain for grains, oilseeds, pulses, and derived products. In this role, she led and administered global policy and communication efforts, and conducted outreach with IGTC members in countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Eastern Africa, Europe, India, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, and US.

    Previously Katy was the first representative of the agri-business community permanently based at the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Rome via the International Agri-Food Network (IAFN), and Assistant Director of the UK National Farmers’ Unions EU office. Katy is a Nuffield farming scholar.

    Thomas J. Erickson is the founder of Erickson Law & Consulting, PLLC, a global commodities and financial markets practice based in Washington, DC, serving clients on matters of international trade, derivatives trading and compliance, physical commodity markets, and related policy advisory services.  Mr. Erickson is a former Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), a position he was nominated to by then President Clinton.  Prior to establishing his own practice, he held senior executive and legal positions at both Bunge, Ltd. and Cargill, Inc.  Mr. Erickson received a juris doctor degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law and is a member of the South Dakota and District of Columbia bar associations. 

  • Matthew Currie

    Trade Policy & Communications Consultant

    Matt joined NAEGA from the United Nations in Geneva, where he researched international arms control. He has a background in international and multilateral policy analysis, and previously worked on international sanctions, human rights reform and security policy. He holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute, and a Bachelor’s degree in French and Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. He speaks French and Italian.

    Matt conducts analysis on trade policy and leads NAEGA's external communications.

  • Craig Fedchock

    Senior Advisor

    Craig Fedchock serves as Senior Advisor to the North American Export Grain Association (NAEGA) and also engages with the International Grain Trade Coalition (IGTC) in this capacity, bringing over three decades of expertise in global agricultural trade policy and phytosanitary systems. He spearheaded the global digitization of phytosanitary certificate exchange as Senior Advisor and Director of the IPPC ePhyto Solution at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, where he served for eleven years including as acting IPPC Secretary — and is lead author of the UNESCAP publication on electronic phytosanitary certification implementation. His distinguished career also includes serving as Director of Bilateral Sanitary and Phytosanitary Affairs at the U.S. Trade Representative's Office, where he led critical U.S. negotiations on SPS issues across multiple Free Trade Agreements and WTO accession discussions. Today he advises on regulatory barriers affecting U.S. grain exports, multilateral SPS engagement, and trade digitalization.  His extensive government experience includes key leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including Director of International Capacity Development and Associate Executive Director of Plant Health Programs.
