The United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and published it’s 2019 State of Food Security & Nutrition in the World Report. The report is published annually to measure global progress towards the Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger. It includes an updated estimate of the number of hungry people in the world, including regional and national breakdowns. The report also offers analysis of the drivers of hunger and malnutrition, and this year includes a focus on the impact of economic slowdowns and downturns. FAO developed the 2019 report with the assistance of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
